Matt Burkett wins 5th MGM Ironman Championship in a row!
On June 7th Matt Burkett set out to Idaho with one goal in mind, to defend his title of MGM Ironman. Two days, eleven stages, and over a twelve hundred rounds later, Matt accomplished his goal. The 2007 championship is Matt’s 5th MGM title in a row. The MGM is widely regarded as one of the most physically demanding competitions in the world, firing an accurate round here is only half the battle. Shooting from the back moving vehicles, scaling 20-foot towers, shooting while driving, and moving a 90 pound dummy are just some of the stages that separate this multigun competition from any other held in the nation.

This year’s MGM Iron man drew over 125  competitors from all over the world. Matt was able to dominate the Open class division winning ten out of eleven stages and  also picked up the overall Ironman Title. Matt attributes his victory to his great sponsor support from companies Magpul Industries Corp (www.magpul.com) and JP Rifles (www.jprifles.com), and his increased training regiment at Predator Ranch, a 1900-acre tactical training facility located just outside of Dallas, Texas. Matt has recently moved to Predator Ranch to increase develop the facility into a premier training location. Matt thoroughly enjoys competition and looks forward to defending his title in 2008. Special thanks to Mike Gibson Manufacturing and the sponsors, range officers and crew for putting on another top notch event.
