A night out with Phil Labonte

ATR

As some of you may remember, back in March we had a blog entry on the ol’ Mag-A-Zine about a Magpul Logo T popping up on CNN after the tragic Japanese earthquake and tsunami. The shirt was being worn by a fellow named Phil Labonte; the lead man for the for the metalcore band All That Remains. After spotting yet another Magpul shirt (Twinkie Twinkie Cupcake) in one of the band’s music videos we decided to get in touch with Phil, just to say hi and thanks for promoting the brand.

Fast forward to the week of May 13th, Phil gave us a call to let us know he was going to be rolling through town in the Uranium Tour and he graciously invited us down to the show, and what a show it was. I had to find new socks after the show because they were clearly rocked off. All That Remains put on a great set and the entire floor was a hypnotic sea of people just diggin’ the sound. Of course there were a few mosh pits going and the occasional person surfing the crowd as well. When you’re in a sea of people, might as well surf, right?

Phil gave Magpul a nice shout-out as well in the middle of their set (see below). We were pretty excited as you may hear in the video.

After ATR was wrapped up, Phil met up with us and we talked firearms over refreshing alcoholic beverages while listening to the classic wails of Zakk Wylde and the rest of Black Label Society.

All in all it was a fantastic way to spend a Friday night in the great city of Denver. BIG thank yous to Phil and the rest of All That Remains!
